A fleet of more than 1'000 boats converging in the bay, a unique opportunity to visit the most beautiful ships in the world and learn about the diversity of the globe's maritime cultures, all in a musical and festive atmosphere: it's in July, every four years, in Brest.

A hymn to the sea and navigation

The maritime festivals are first of all a swarm of boats from the four corners of the globe, from the legendary sailboats of yesteryear to the most recent armaments of the French Navy. The opportunity to follow incredible parades, attend races or maneuvers, board legendary ships and even set sail! The oceans are links between people. So you will embark, during this 8^eedition, for a world tour in 5 stops, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean via the Poles. 5 scenographic spaces to explore the diversity of traditions and traditional maritime construction methods, cultures, music, songs, crafts, gastronomy... A primordial issue, of burning topicality, the ocean, the driving force of the climate, invites itself to the heart of Brest 2024. The opportunity for scientists to share the results of their research and to propose meaningful solutions for the future. Old rigging, festive atmosphere, openness to the world and the challenges of today and tomorrow, that's all, Brest 2024!
